The Teatro Real, Madrid’s opera house facing the Royal Palace, opens its 2026/27 season with Puccini’s Manon Lescaut on 23 September 2026 and closes with Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia in July 2027. Plan a Madrid trip around a production, not the other way round.

The season also includes concert performances such as Handel’s Messiah (18 Dec 2026), plus dance and concerts. Casts and dates can change; the Teatro Real’s programme is final.

An opera night, arranged

Good seats for popular productions go early. We request them as soon as you have dates, book dinner nearby for after the performance (Madrid dines late, which suits opera) and have a car at the door.
